ABOUT ABOUT

Local 149 celebrates some of its favorite craft brewers on a tasty tour across this great nation.  Four courses highlight the unique culinary offerings from the region where the beer was created.  It is a celebration of people doing their thing locally throughout America.  Starting in the great state of Massachusetts with a rare beer from Berkshire Brewing this tour will take you to the plains of Nebraska, the shores of San Diego and ending in the bustling streets of New Orleans.

Start the evening off with BBC’s Saint of Circumstance.  A nearby brushfire leant a smoky quality to the hops and the beer was aged in Jack Daniels barrels.  This unique offering will be accompanied by New England clambake passed hors douvres: stuffies, raw oysters, corn on the cob with lobster butter.

Next we will take you to Nebraska to the aptly named Nebraska Brewery to taste their Infinite Wit.  This unfiltered offering will be paired with a salad of confit rabbit, grilled peaches, blackberries and asparagus.  The flavors we bring you from the plains will be anything but flat!

As we roll into the BIG city of San Diego, we hit you with some BIG flavors with an ale from Stone Brewing, brewers of IMMENSE beers.  Adding a twist, this ale will be featured in a smoky tequila and beer cocktail, and paired with crispy shrimp tacos, purple cabbage, cucumber and habanero avocado cream.

Ending our tour in the vibrant and playful city of New Orleans we present you with a praline ice cream float.  House made praline ice cream will be drenched in Abita Brewing’s Turbodog brown ale.  An adult version of a childhood favorite exemplifies what the boisterous city of New Orleans is.

Let us take you for a ride!
